What to Do If Your Alertify Device Is Offline

Here’s what to do if your Alertify device is offline

If your Alertify device is showing as offline, don’t worry—there are a few simple steps you can take to troubleshoot and get it back online quickly.

Step 1: Check Your Wi-Fi Connection

Before doing anything with the device itself, confirm that your Wi-Fi is working properly. Follow these steps:

  • Test your internet: Try loading a website or using another Wi-Fi-connected device in the same location as your Alertify device to ensure your network is functional.

  • Check for outages: If other devices aren’t connecting, there may be an internet service outage in your area. Contact your internet provider for updates.

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong: If your Alertify device is far from the router or behind thick walls, the signal may be weak. Try moving it closer or improving coverage with a Wi-Fi extender.

Once you've confirmed that your Wi-Fi is working, wait 5 minutes to allow your Alertify device to automatically reconnect.

Step 2: Reboot Your Device

If your device doesn’t reconnect after 5 minutes, you may need to manually restart it. Follow these steps:

How to Reboot Your Alertify Device

  1. Locate your device: Find the plugged-in Alertify device that is offline.

  2. Find the reset button: Look for a small hole at the bottom of the device.

  3. Use a pin to reset: Insert a pin (or a similar thin object) into the hole while it is still plugged into the power socket and hold it for 5 seconds until you hear a buzzing sound.

  4. Wait for the reboot: After resetting, allow 5 minutes for the device to restart and reconnect.

Step 3: Confirm Device Status

  • Once the reboot is complete, check your Alertify dashboard to see if the device is online.

  • If your device appears as active, the issue is resolved.

  • If it’s still offline, consider checking for Wi-Fi interference, moving the device closer to the router, or restarting your router.
