Whether you're a first-time user or just looking to fine-tune your Alertify setup, adjusting your device settings is key to getting the most accurate alerts and insights. In this guide, we’ll walk you step-by-step through how to personalize your Alertify monitoring preferences - from noise and smoke detection to occupancy and temperature thresholds. Before we dive in, make sure your device is connected, assigned to a unit, and showing as “online” in your dashboard. To make sure you can access and adjust your Alertify device settings properly, complete the following:
✅ Your Alertify device must be plugged in and connected
✅ Your building and unit must be created in the dashboard
✅ Your device must be assigned to a unit
✅ Your device should show as “online” in the Devices tab

Log into your Alertify Dashboard
Click on the Devices tab in the top menu
Find your device in the list. Make sure the status says Online
Click on the device name or on the associated unit name to open its full settings

If everything checks out - great job! Your Alertify device is up and running. Now it’s time to personalize your settings and unlock the full potential of your device.
Once you're inside the unit or device view:
Click on the tab labeled Settings
(You’ll see this in the top menu when viewing a unit)
This is where you’ll find all of your Alertify device settings, grouped by category:
Noise
Smoke
Occupancy
Temperature
Mold Risk
Tamper Detection
Connectivity
Note: The Unit inherits the default settings from the Building, which are applied as default. However, if you wish to customize the settings for this specific unit, you can disable the default configuration and make the necessary adjustments to suit your preferences.
These control how your device detects and alerts you about noise.
Enable Noise Detection
Toggle this ON to start monitoring noise.
Set Your Noise Threshold
Click the dropdown icon under “Noise Threshold” to pick your alert level.
💡 Tip:
Normal conversation: 60–70 dB
Raised voices: 65–75 dB
Loud music/parties: 80–110 dB
First Notification Delay
Choose how long noise must stay above the threshold before an alert is sent
(e.g., 10 minutes of loud noise triggers an alert).
Follow-up Notifications
Set how often to receive repeated alerts if the noise doesn’t stop
(e.g., after 15 minutes for up to 2 times).
Custom Time Rules
Set specific times to disable or adjust noise alerts—for example:
Housekeeping hours
Quiet hours after 10 p.m.
Event exceptions
Noise Monitoring Settings on the Dashboard
These alert you to cigarette, vape, or marijuana smoke in your property.
Enable Smoke Detection
Toggle this ON to monitor for smoke events.
Follow-up Notifications
Choose how often to be notified if smoke continues (e.g., every 10 minutes).
Custom Time Rules
Turn off smoke detection in times like:
In smoke-friendly units

This helps detect when too many people are in the property.
Enable Occupancy Detection
Toggle ON to start monitoring for large gatherings.
Set Maximum Occupancy
Choose how many guests are allowed. If more people are detected, you’ll get an alert.

Great for protecting HVAC systems and ensuring guest comfort.
Enable Temperature Alerts
Toggle ON to monitor the temperature inside the property.
Set Your Preferred Range
Select the edit icon on the right and define a minimum and maximum temperature:
For example:
Minimum: 15°C (59°F)
Maximum: 28°C (82°F)
You’ll get an alert if the temp goes outside this range.
Temperature Monitoring Settings on the Dashboard
Alertify monitors humidity and temperature to assess mold risk. If conditions favor mold growth, a warning will appear on your dashboard so you can act early.
Toggle on to receive updates when humidity and temperature levels indicate a high risk of mold.
Mold Risk Monitoring Settings on the Dashboard
This feature identifies attempts to block or disable your device by monitoring changes in temperature, noise, and airflow. It runs in the background and adapts to your environment.
Enable this to be notified if the device is tampered with.
Tamper Detection Monitoring Settings on the Dashboard
When connectivity is enabled, it will notify the user of any connectivity issues, such as if the device goes offline or it loses power, in any units that are connected to the building.
Enable this to get notified if your device goes offline or loses power.
Connectivity Monitoring Settings on the Dashboard
To edit who receives notifications for the units on your dashboard. Go to Settings on the left menu and select Notifications on the top menu. Here you can add additional email addresses or 1 phone number.
To send notifications for some properties to specific users, you can add a User to your dashboard by following the steps below:
Go to the General tab on the left and select Users.
Select the option Add New User, and then select Admin, Editor, or View-Only for your preference.
Enter the relevant email address and phone number and the Building/Unit you would like the User to have access to and receive notifications for - this is usually the host, property manager, or hotel staff.
Once the information is added click Send Invite.
Add E-mail and Mobile Numbers of Everyone Who Should Receive Alertify Notifications
If you prefer to receive notifications through platforms other than SMS or email, you can set up a webhook.
Head to ‘General’ on the left menu and select ‘Settings’. Head to ‘Webhooks’, enter your application's unique URL, select for which Building/Unit you would like to receive alerts for as well as Triggers for alerts. Save Webhook once you’re satisfied with your selections.

Add a Webhook by Entering a Webhook URL
To see real-time data, navigate to the Unit tab and click on the unit’s name. This will open the Overview page, where you can view live noise levels, air quality, and mold risk.
You can also:
Adjust the timeframe to view data from a specific period
Save the graph as a PNG file
Download a CSV file with timestamps and corresponding noise levels
