Getting started with Users

The Users feature allows account owners to invite team members, property managers, and stakeholders to access your Alertify dashboard with customized permission levels. This guide will walk you through adding users, understanding access levels, and helping new users get started.

Understanding User Access Levels

Before inviting users, it's important to understand the three types of access levels available:

🟢   Admin Full dashboard access with the ability to manage settings, users, and buildings. Admins have complete control over the system configuration and user management. By default, all units and buildings will be assigned to Admin users.

🟠   Editor Dashboard access with permission to edit settings, allowing trusted team members to make operational adjustments without full administrative privileges.

🟡   View-Only Limited dashboard access to view assigned buildings and units only, perfect for property owners, stakeholders, or team members who need visibility without editing capabilities.

Adding a New User

To invite a new user to your Alertify dashboard, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Alertify dashboard account

  2. Navigate to Users on the left menu

  1. Click the "Add new user" button in the top right corner

  1. Select the appropriate access level (Admin, Editor, or View-Only)

  2. Fill in the user's details:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Email

    • Company Name

  1. Assign the user to specific buildings and units

Please note: When you select a building, units in that building will automatically be selected in the "Assigned Units" dropdown.

Once you've completed all fields, click "Send invite" to send an invitation email to the new user.

What Happens Next?

After you send the invitation, the new user will receive an email asking them to create a password for their login credentials. Once they've completed the registration process, they can log in to their Alertify dashboard and view their assigned buildings and units based on their access level.

New users should customize their notification preferences to ensure they receive relevant alerts. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your Alertify dashboard

  2. Navigate to Settings on the left menu

  3. Click on Notifications in the top navigation

  4. Add your email address and phone number

  5. Customize which buildings and units you want to be notified about

  6. Select the types of violation notifications you want to receive (noise, smoking, occupancy, etc.)

This ensures you stay informed about the properties and alerts that matter most to you.
