Setting up a new device can sometimes come with small challenges. If your Alertify device is having trouble connecting to your Wi-Fi, use these troubleshooting steps to get it up and running.
If you have gone through the device setup steps but your device has not shown up on your Alertify dashboard and the lights are displaying red LEDs, before you do anything else, ensure that you’ve entered the correct Wi-Fi credentials. To do this, you will need to go through the set up again. During the setup, it is important to double-check the following information before pressing continue:
✅ Wi-Fi password: Verify that you are using the correct Wi-Fi password for your network. Typos, incorrect capitalization, or outdated passwords can prevent the device from connecting.
✅ Alertify username & password: Make sure you’ve entered your correct Alertify account credentials when prompted.
Some devices may automatically switch between networks, which can disrupt the connection process. To prevent this, turn off the Auto-Join setting for your Wi-Fi:
Go to your Wi-Fi settings on your phone or computer.
Find your primary Wi-Fi network.
Disable Auto-Join to prevent automatic disconnections.
For more details, check out our guide on How to Turn Off Wi-Fi Auto-Join.
Alertify devices require a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection. If your router is set to 5GHz only, your device won’t be able to connect.
To check if your Wi-Fi is using 2.4GHz:
Log into your router’s settings (this is usually done via a web browser or your internet provider’s app).
Look for Wi-Fi settings or wireless options.
Ensure that 2.4GHz is enabled and that your device is trying to connect to this network.
