Alertify AP is not showing up on my WIFI settings

Follow these simple steps to do a hard reset on your device

If you cannot find Alertify AP in your Wi-Fi settings, your device may have stopped broadcasting its Wi-Fi signal after being idle for some time. This is a common occurrence and can be resolved by performing a hard reset on the device.

Why a Hard Reset is Needed

Unlike most plug-in devices, simply unplugging and replugging your Alertify device will not reset it. This is because the device has a built-in backup battery that keeps it powered temporarily even when unplugged. To fully reset the device and restore the Wi-Fi signal, follow the steps below.

Steps to Perform a Full Factory Reset

Step 1: Reset the device

  1. Ensure your device is plugged into a power outlet. It must remain plugged in throughout the reset process.

  2. Find the small reset hole on the bottom left corner of the device.

  3. Take a pin, paperclip, or similar pointed object and insert it into the hole.

  4. Press and hold the reset button with the pin inside the hole for 15-20 seconds.

  5. Keep holding the button until:

  • You hear a buzzing sound from the device.

  • The LED lights on the device flash blue.

  1.  Once the device’s LEDs flash blue, take the pin out.

  2. Wait 1-2 minutes for the reset to complete.

  3. After the restart, Alertify AP should reappear in your Wi-Fi network list.

Step 2: Reconnect to Alertify AP

  1. Open your device’s Wi-Fi settings.

  2. Look for Alertify AP in the available networks.

  3. Select it and connect.

  4. Follow the setup instructions here.
