What Happens If A Guest Unplugs Your Device

Find out what to do if your Alertify device is unplugged

While it is unlikely that a guest will unplug your device, it could still happen. If it does happen, do not worry. You will receive a notification when your device becomes unplugged, so you are aware of the situation. Your device also has a backup battery installed, which will keep it connected to Wi-Fi for a few hours afterward. If you receive a notification that your device has been unplugged, here's what to do...

1. Check your email or texts to see if you have received any additional notifications, such as a noise violation or smoking violation.

2. Log in to your Alertify dashboard and click on your unplugged sensors name to view the live data of your property's noise, smoking, and CO2 levels. Your property's CO2 levels can help you determine if additional, unwarranted guests may be present on your property.

3. If there is evidence of a party taking place through noise or smoking violations, it would be a good idea to contact your guests to ensure the situation is handled as quickly as possible.

4. As soon as your property can be reaccessed by your cleaning staff or by yourself, make sure to plug your Alertify device back in. If possible, consider plugging your Alertify device in behind a piece of furniture to prevent your device from being tampered with in the future.
