My Wi-Fi Is Not Showing Up: How To Make Sure Your Wi-Fi Is Functioning On 2.4GHz

Make sure your Wi-Fi can connect to Alertify

Most Wi-Fi routers have the option to connect to function on 5GHz or 2.4GHz, often at the same time. If you have been struggling to connect your Alertify device to your Wi-Fi, the next step to take is to make sure your Wi-Fi has 2.4GHz enabled. Just follow these easy steps:

1) Locate your Wi-Fi router and check the tag where you would find your Wi-Fi network name and password. Here, you should also find a numbered web address that likely starts with "192." Here, you should also see a heading for "Modem Password." Either take a picture of this or write it down and keep it nearby, as you will need this shortly.

2) On your computer or laptop, open your browser and navigate to the web address that is on your router and use the modem password to log in.

3) Now that you are logged into your router's settings, you need to check your Wireless settings. Every router company's settings will look different, but you can generally find this in Advanced Settings > Wireless > Wireless Signal

4) Here, you should be able to see connectivity options for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. If 2.4GHz is not on, please switch this on. Don't worry. 5GHz and 2.4GHz can function at the same time.

5) If this still doesn't work, please switch off 5GHz and only allow 2.4GHz to function. Then, once your Alertify device is connected, you can switch 5GHz back on to function as normal.

What happens if this still does not work?

6) If your Wi-Fi still does not show up for your device, then do a simple reset of your device. Take a small pin (you should have one from an old cellphone box) and stick it into the bottom of your Alertify device while it is still plugged in. Keep the pin in for 20 seconds and you should hear a buzz and the LEDs should flash blue.
