If you need to switch the WiFi network your Alertify device is connected to, it's a straightforward process that typically takes around 5 minutes. Below, we've outlined the steps you'll need to follow:
Prerequisites:
Be in the new unit with your Alertify device plugged into the socket.
Download the Alertify: Property Monitoring app on the App store or Play Store.
Step 1: Reset Your Device
To begin, you'll need to reset your Alertify device. Locate the small hole at the bottom of the device.
Take a pin and insert it into the hole while the device is still plugged into the power socket.
Keep the pin in place until you hear a buzzing sound and see the last two LEDs flash blue.
Once this happens, remove the pin.
After a brief moment, typically a few seconds to a minute, you should see a network named "Alertify AP" appear in your list of available WiFi networks.
If you have the Alertify: Property Monitoring app installed, follow the instructions below:
Step 2: Add a device on your Alertify App
Open the Alertify app, and navigate to the menu icon on the top left.
Then click on ‘Add new device’.
Step 3: Connect to your device
Click ‘Connect’ when you see the step that reads “Please ensure that the LED states on your Alertify device match those shown in the following image”.
The app will automatically connect to your device.
Once connected, select your WIFI network and input your password.
You’ll also be asked to name your device to easily identify it on the dashboard.
Step 4: Assign your device to a unit
Navigate to your ‘Devices’ tab on the left hand-side menu.
Click on the pencil icon and select a unit to assign your device to.
Once you've selected a unit, click on 'Save Changes'.
If you don’t have the app, continue with the instructions below:
Step 2: Connect to the Alertify AP Network
Connect your laptop or phone to the "Alertify AP" network. To do this, navigate to your WIFI settings and select ‘Alertify AP’ to connect to.
Step 3: Access the Setup Interface
Open a web browser on a laptop or phone that's connected to the "Alertify AP" network and enter the following link into the address bar: http://192.168.4.1/. This will take you to the setup interface for your Alertify device.
Once you've accessed the setup interface, you'll need to follow the same steps you did when you initially set up your device. This includes providing the necessary information for connecting to your new WiFi network, such as the network name and password.
After entering the new WiFi information, proceed through the setup process as instructed. Once completed, your Alertify device should be successfully connected to the new WiFi network.
Step 4: Assign your device to a unit
Navigate to your ‘Devices’ tab on the left hand-side menu.
Click on the pencil icon and select a unit to assign your device to.
Once you've selected a unit, click on 'Save Changes'.
